When God wants to elevate you, He will always allow you to go through different levels of testing. The testing has to show the maturity that He desires to see within you. Think of it as though you were in school. In order to go to the next grade, you simply have to make sure you pass all tests in order to get the promotion. If the tests aren't passed, you will be tested again. If you don't pass all tests, you won't get promoted to the next grade. You will be stuck in the same grade as your classmates move on with their promotion. Ouch!
This is the same with God. Do you find yourself being tested in the same area? Do you ever wonder why it keeps happening? Did you ever think that God was giving you another chance to overcome what continues to overcome you? He wants to make sure you are ready. He's testing your patience, your endurance, your trust in Him, your ability to let go of things, habits, people and situations that He told you to let go of. If God can't trust you, He won't promote you. You have to simply show God you are ready to be promoted!
I think about Joseph in the Bible. Joseph was tested in so many ways. We all know he went from the pit to the palace, but in doing that, he had to go through levels of testing, levels of frustration, levels of rejection, hurt and pain...
Joseph had to take off several things before he could rise in ranking with the king. During the entire time, God was with him. Joseph never stopped using his gifts and talents to bless the Lord. He didn't give in to worldly lusts as Potiphar's wife tried to seduce him. He didn't quit serving God when he felt like he was forgotten. Nope! Joseph endured as a good soldier and maintained his faith throughout!
Is God testing you right now? Will you maintain your faith despite it all? Will you let go and let God? Will you surrender? God is waiting to promote you. You simply have to trust Him!
